In cooperation with More Than Shelter, a California nonprofit corporation, Century Housing is conducting this raffle pursuant to California Penal Code Section 320.5, et seq., as a way to raise funds to cover a portion of the cost of providing More Than Shelter® services to community members.

Century Housing, a nonprofit California corporation, is a tax-exempt organization under federal and state laws. Century Housing supports affordable and workforce housing throughout the greater Los Angeles area, with an emphasis on More Than Shelter supportive services for the residents.

 

Who will benefit from the raffle of this house?

Services that benefit from this raffle include early childhood development programs, after-school tutoring services for at-risk youth, construction employment development and placement services for Los Angeles community residents, a wellness program for seniors living in affordable apartment communities, and an extensive array of supportive services for formerly homeless veterans.

 

What is More Than Shelter in relation to Century Housing?

At Century, we help create affordable, quality, aesthetically pleasing housing—always enhanced by social services designed to assist residents of Los Angeles, from toddlers to seniors, with their most critical needs. We believe that these More Than Shelter amenities turn a building into a home and a development into a community.

How much are tickets and are they tax deductable?

Raffle tickets for the $1.5 million Beverly Hills Dream Home in Los Angeles are $180 each. House raffle ticket purchases are not tax deductable.

 

How many raffle tickets are being sold?

There is a set limit of 22,000 tickets that will be sold. There are additional cash prizes totaling over $154,000. The odds of at least doubling the purchase price of a ticket are 1 in 121!

 

When is the deadline to enter the house raffle?

The raffle ticket purchase deadline has been extended until May 29, 2005.

Who can buy a ticket for the house raffle?

You must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of the United States to purchase tickets or win a prize. Employees of Century Housing, any affiliated corporation thereof, The Strategics Group, Tier3, Inc., Wollborg and Michelson, any temporary employment agency used by Century Housing, or Novogradac & Company LLP, and persons living in the same household as those employees, are not eligible to win a prize.

 

What else can I win other than the dream house in Beverly Hills?

1st Prize: 1 cash prize of $50,000
2nd Prize: 1 cash prize of $25,000
3rd Prize: 1 cash prize of $10,000
4th Prize: 7 cash prizes of $1,000 each
5th Prize: 10 cash prizes of $500 each
6th Prize: 160 cash prizes of $360 each

 

The Early Bird drawing was already awarded. Can I still win something if
I was entered before the drawing?

Yes! All entries before the Early Bird raffle drawing are eligible for the Dream Home and other cash prizes raffle drawing whether you had won in the Early Bird or not.

 

How many house raffle tickets can I purchase?

You can buy as many house raffle tickets as there are available until all 22,000 tickets have been sold.

 

Can I share the purchase of one raffle ticket?

Division of a prize by a group purchasing a ticket in common shall be the sole responsibility of the person named as the holder of record of that ticket.

Only one eligible person may be entered in the raffle per ticket sold. Century Housing will record the name and contact information of that person as the holder of record of that particular ticket. Prizes will be awarded only to the holder of record of a winning ticket. If the name of more than one person is submitted with a ticket purchase, and that ticket is selected as a winning ticket, then the person named first will be deemed the holder of record of that ticket and declared the winner.
