Century Housing Announces $1.3 Million Loan to Fund 43 Affordable Apartment Homes in San Diego County

Culver City, CA — Century Housing, one of California’s largest affordable housing lenders, announces a $1.3 million acquisition loan to developer SADI, LLC for the creation of Springbrook Grove Apartments, a 43-unit apartment community affordable to low-income families in San Diego County.

The two and three-bedroom apartment homes will be located in the city of Fallbrook.

“While the majority of Century-financed homes are located in and around Los Angeles, we look forward to expanding our efforts to help create much-needed affordable housing in San Diego County,” said Stephen J. Peelor, Century Housing Senior Vice President of Lending.

“Forty-three families in the community of Fallbrook will have an opportunity otherwise not available to them—quality, affordable housing,” Peelor said.

The development will also feature social services for residents, including on-site case management, support groups, benefits advocacy and educational workshops. Construction is scheduled to be completed in August, 2008.

Based in Culver City, Calif, Century Housing is a nonprofit affordable housing lender, which has used more than $320 million in financing to help create more than 12,000 quality ownership and rental homes, affordable to low- and moderate-income working families. Century links its affordable housing with social programs supported through The More Than Shelter Fund® that have served more than 20,000 Southern California residents. These services include: on-site after-school academic tutoring for at-risk youth; construction job training and placement for men and women; child development centers for low-income families; transitional housing for homeless veterans; and wellness programs for seniors. Century also recently opened the Century Community Charter School in Inglewood, California.
