Culver City, CA – Century Community Development Inc. (CCDI), announces the closing of a $2.6 million acquisition loan to Thomas Safran & Associates for Central Avenue Apartments in South Los Angeles. The development’s 66 one- and two-bedroom apartments will be priced affordable to seniors earning less than approximately $35,000 per year. “Century has enjoyed a successful collaboration with Thomas Safran, with three developments in the Los Angeles area,” said G. Allan Kingston, President & CEO of Century Housing. “Central Avenue Apartments will be another fine example of how the nonprofit and for-profit sectors can work together to serve the lower-income senior population, who are currently priced out of the housing market,” he said. The $13.4 million development, which supports Councilmember Jan Perry’s Central Avenue Action Plan, along with the Community Redevelopment Association, to revitalize the Central Avenue corridor in South Los Angeles. Central Avenue Apartments is scheduled to be completed in January, 2009.
