Construction Job Training and Placement Program Offers Career Opportunities, New Life For Local Men and Women

Lennox, CA — A job in the high-paying construction trades can mean a whole new life for someone who can't make ends meet; but trade school tuition can cost thousands of dollars, making the opportunity out of reach for thousands of capable workers looking for an introductory course in skills like carpentry, plumbing and other trades.

The Century Community Training Program (CCTP), established by Century Housing and supported in part by The More Than Shelter Fund®, offers local men and women an opportunity to become pre-apprenticeship trainees in the construction trades-tuition-free and even providing employment services for graduates.

CCTP’s eight-week intensive program covers everything from on-the job safety, tools, construction skills and help with job placement. There is no cost to students for the training course, which is certified by the State of California Bureau for Private Postsecondary & Vocational Education. Enrolling in the program does not jeopardize unemployment insurance benefits.

Trainee applicants must provide a valid California driver’s license, show proof of eligibility to work in the United States, have reliable transportation, and must be over 18 years of age. Future trainees can learn more about the program by attending one of CCTP’s weekly orientations, held every Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. at the Century Community Training Center, 5021 Lennox Boulevard in Lennox, CA near Los Angeles International Airport.

For CCTP orientation information please call (310) 673-3941 or please visit www.centuryhousing.org.
