Marlene, one of the tutors in our Century/LIFT tutoring program, lacked the kind of mentoring and assistance with school that she now so willingly provides for the students of this important program. Today, she helps them with their homework and sets standards for their work, focusing especially on their language and math skills.

“I want to make a difference in their lives,” says Marlene. “I feel I have the ability to make a difference or at least influence and guide them through a successful path, which is education.”
