William Brennan is the Executive Director of the California New Motor Vehicle Board, a state forum for regulating and settling disputes between franchised new motor vehicle dealers and the manufacturers or distributors of these vehicles, which include automobiles, motorcycles, and recreational vehicles. He is also President of Worldwide Safety, LLC, which is a product development company located in Sacramento, California.

Mr. Brennan has both private and public sector experience. He is a licensed California attorney since 1972, serving business and corporate clients in a variety of areas, including strategic business planning, regulatory business, public policy, government relations and corporate and small business development.

His public service includes a year at the White House, Washington, D.C. in 1984, senior advisor to Senator Pete Wilson in Washington, D.C. from 1985 to 1987 and appointment as deputy secretary and special counsel for the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency by Governor Pete Wilson from 1992 to 1999.

Currently a housing and community development consultant, Earl Fields was Field Office Manager with the U. S. Department of Housing & Urban Development from 1978 through 1994. He was responsible for the administration of Single Family Mortgage Insurance Program (FHA) for a five-county area in Southern California; was the principal representative for the Assistant Secretary /FI-IA Commissioner of HUD to local city and county government, residential home building and mortgage banking industries; managed a staff of as many as 100 real estate appraisers, loan specialists and underwriters, real estate sales agents, asset management specialists, loan servicing, clerical and administrative support staff; and was responsible for the planning and development of industry training seminars and conferences.

For the 10 years prior to this position, Mr. Fields held various management and representative positions with HUD for urban renewal, model cities, insured multifamily housing, college housing, and community development programs.

Mr. Fields serves on the Board of Century Community Development, Inc. and is President of EGP & Associates, which specializes in housing and community development issues involving HUD/HFA.

 

 

Carrie Hawkins

In 1993, Carrie Hawkins was elected the first woman President of the California Mortgage Banker’s Association. She also received that organization’s Distinguished Service Award in 1998. In 1995. Mrs. Hawkins sold Trinity Mortgage Company, of which she had been the owner and President for 15 years.

She served as Governor Wilson’s appointee on the board of the California Housing Finance Agency as Vice Chairman. Mrs. Hawkins has also served on the board of the California Housing Partnership Corporation; the Fannie Mae Advisory Board; the LINC Housing Corporation Board; as President of the Southern California Mortgage Bankers Association; and the Board of the Association of Professional Mortgage Women. She is a member of Lambda Alpha, a premier international real estate society.

Mrs. Hawkins serves as Chairperson of Century/LIFT and serves on the Boards of Century Community Development, Inc. and the Century Community Charter School; she sits on Claremont Institute's Committee on Local Government and is a former Vice Chair of California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA).

 

 

Robert M. Hertzberg

Mr. Hertzberg is a Partner with Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw Law Firm in Los Angeles since 2002. Prior to that, Mr. Hertzberg was Speaker of the California State Assembly from 2000 to 2002 and a member of the Assembly from 1996 through his term as Speaker. He is also Director of Solar Integrated Technologies, 2002 to present.

Mr. Hertzberg is the recipient of numerous awards and honors. The California State Assembly Capitol Institute was renamed the Robert M. Hertzberg Capitol Institute in 2002. Other awards include the California Building Industry Association 2002 Special Achievement Award; Los Angeles Daily Journal Top 100 Lawyers in California, 2001 and 2000; California Highway Patrol Legislator of the Year, 2001; and Project Restore Outstanding Contributions to Historic Preservation of L.A., 2000.

Mr. Hertzberg serves on the Boards of USC School of Public Policy, California After School Foundation, California Historical Society, L.A. Tomorrow & California Leadership Institute, Los Angeles Opportunities Industrialization Center, and Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. He is Chairman of the Board for the California State Assembly International Relations Foundation, the Robert M. Hertzberg Library and Learning Center at Los Angeles Valley College, and the L.A. Tomorrow & California Leadership Institute. He is Vice President of the National Association of Jewish Legislators.

Diann Kim is a partner with Overland Borenstein Scheper & Kim LLP. She has more than 18 years of experience in commercial litigation. Ms. Kim specializes in civil antitrust and unfair trade practices. She has handled numerous complex business disputes in federal and state courts for jury and non-jury trials and appellate hearings.

Ms. Kim recently served as Of Counsel with the law firm of Winston & Strawn. From 1993 to 1998, Ms. Kim served as an arbitrator in the Los Angeles County Superior and Municipal Courts. She was deputy general counsel to the special advisor for the Los Angeles Police Department’s Board of Police Commissioners following the 1992 Los Angeles riots.

Ms. Kim serves on the board of trustees of Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, and Polytechnic School in Pasadena, California. She is currently serving as Chair of the Board of Directors for Shelter Partnership, Inc., a nonprofit organization for the homeless in Los Angeles County.

Mr. Lopez serves on numerous local, state and federal advisory committees on affordable housing policy, and has lectured on housing finance, housing policy formation, and community relations at a number of universities.

Mr. Lopez serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Citizens Housing, is President of the Board for Building Futures with Women & Children, and is also Chairman of Bay Area LISC's Local Advisory Committee. She worked with the Federal Government since 1963, with GSA and the Department of Defense.
