Lending Team

Century’s Lending team has a combined total of over 100 years of experience and works in conjunction with our in-house Loan Administration and Legal departments for responsive service and reliable delivery.

Josh Hamilton

Vice President, Lending

As Vice President of Lending, Mr. Hamilton is responsible for loan originations throughout Century’s California footprint. Mr. Hamilton has over 15 years of experience in affordable housing finance. Prior to Century Housing, Josh was a loan officer with PNC Real Estate where he was responsible for originating more than $300 million in permanent financing primarily for affordable housing properties through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA.

Josh has a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from UCLA and a Masters in Real Estate Development (MRED) through the University of Southern California.

Nick Friend

Senior Loan Officer

Nick Friend acts as Senior Loan Officer at Century’s Northern California office.

Mr. Friend recently served as Mortgage Officer at the Community Preservation Corporation and as Associate at Citi Community Capital. He has a strong interest in community development, finance, CRA investment banking, and real estate.

Mr. Friend received his Master’s in Business Administration in Real Estate/Entrepreneurship from Columbia University and his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Urban Studies from Yale University.

Tracey L. Burns

Community Construction Lender

Tracey Burns, Community Construction Lender, is responsible for all construction financing at Century, with over nine years of experience in affordable and urban infill lending. Mrs. Burns has underwritten more than $247 million in predevelopment, acquisition, and construction loans which resulted in more than 1,000 workforce and low-income housing units in Southern California.

Prior to her employment at Century, Tracey Burns worked with Simpson Housing Solutions in the Acquisitions department. Tracey Burns graduated from California State University, Dominguez Hills, with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and a concentration in Criminal Justice. Tracey Burns also completed the USC Ross Minority Program in Real Estate at the USC Lusk Center.

Karen Bennett-Green

Vice President, Loan Administration

Ms. Bennett-Green, Vice President of Loan Administration, is responsible for managing Century’s loan portfolio. She has more than 15 years of real estate loan experience, including commercial, multifamily, and affordable niches. She has extensive experience in working with tax credit terms, tax-exempt bonds, and Fannie Mae “Direct Underwriting Service” transactions. She was a housing specialist for the Housing Authority of the City of Inglewood before going to the Kaufman and Broad Multi-Housing Group in Long Beach where she oversaw all aspects of risk management for Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) of an 8,000-unit Section 42 portfolio.

Ms. Bennett-Green received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University, Los Angeles, and has her Housing Development Finance Professional Certification from the National Development Council.

Bartek Malecki

Director of Marketing

Bartek Malecki is in charge of branding and promoting Century lending products and the Century Villages at Cabrillo supportive housing community. He maintains and executes Century’s marketing plan, including reporting, communications, and advertising, and seeks opportunities to serve Century’s lending business and aid its mission to provide affordable housing options to California’s low-income residents.

Mr. Malecki holds a bachelor’s degree in Design and Media Arts from UCLA and is an active member of the Polish American Film Society’s Board of Directors, which has hosted the Annual Polish Film Festival in Los Angeles since 1999.

Beulah Ku

Assistant Vice President, Client Relations

Beulah Ku brings over 20 years of marketing and management experience to Century as the Assistant Vice President of Client Relations. Beulah focuses on identifying, assessing and developing new business opportunities. She is involved in strategic marketing and operations and works closely with Lending. Prior to joining Century, she held various management positions in a diverse arena including architecture, media and venture capital. She holds a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and an undergraduate degree in dietetics. She is a Board member of the Beverly Hills Women’s Club and co-owns Joss Cuisine in Beverly Hills, California.

Morris Miller

Risk Officer

Mr. Miller, Risk Officer for Century, is responsible for evaluating the credit worthiness and capabilities of the borrower/guarantor, the real estate collateral securing the proposed loan, and adequacy of the loan structure for transactions and/or relationships. Before joining Century, Mr. Miller was responsible for underwriting over $100MM in commercial and multi-family loans and for the management of a portfolio of construction loans to evaluate construction and conversion risk, construction progress, and adherence to budget. 

Mr. Miller received his Housing Development Finance Professional Certification from the National Development Council and his Bachelor of Science (with honors) in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. 

Serybrem (CB) Bass

Senior Loan Administration Officer

Serybrem Bass (“CB”) is Senior Loan Administration Officer for Century. She has been a part of the Century team for eighteen years and before transitioning to her current position, she worked as Sales Coordinator assisting first-time homebuyers with the purchase and escrow process. Ms. Bass assists clients in navigating the loan process, which includes lines of credit, acquiring of vacant lots, and constructing multifamily developments.

When not working to close housing loans, Ms. Bass enjoys time with her family and friends, participating in church activities and decorating for birthday, anniversary, and wedding celebrations.

Ms. Bass received her Housing Development Finance Professional Certification from the National Development Council.

Betty O'Quinn

Senior Loan Administration Officer

Betty O’Quinn has been in the Mortgage and Real Estate industry for over 20 years and with Century for the past seven years. As Senior Loan Administration Officer, Ms. O’Quinn expertise in constructions, acquisition/bridge, and pre-development loan closing has produced millions in rapid funding. Ms. O’Quinn is responsible for collecting due diligence, loan contracts, site inspections, and administering payments for borrowers.

Prior to working at Century, Ms. O’Quinn served for nine years at Bank of America as Loan Representative with duties including loan servicing, pay-off, real estate taxes, UCC filings, and foreclosures. Betty takes pride in making sure the needs of our internal and external clients are met expeditiously.

Cynthia Catzalco

Loan Servicing Officer

Mrs. Catzalco was born in Normal, IL, but she is anything but ordinary!  Mrs. Catzalco has enjoyed 15 years as Loan Servicing Officer at Century and a total of 21 years in a customer service capacity. She enjoys helping Century’s enthusiastic borrowers who are working hard to create affordable housing. If you have any questions about your loan, she is your go-to person.

Mrs. Catzalco has received her Level 2 Commercial Servicer Certification from Mortgage Bankers Association. She is also an active member of Boy Scouts acting as Secretary of the El Segundo Scout House Association and as Unit Commissioner serving the Pacifica District in starting new Cub Scout packs.
